Dear Friends and Family,
As a small child, I thought, if you live in a condo then you are rich. My understanding of a vacation home was limited to condos but still I understood money and access was something to strive for at 3 years old.
As a small child I loved the sound of the piano. I don't even know where I had even heard it. But I loved it and when I found out you could be a professional piano player I was stoked.
I told my father. "Daddy, Daddy! When I grow up I want to be a penis and live in a condom" Completely sincere you could imagine my fathers reaction.
Pure comical genius, and when he laughed at me I took personal offense.
"oh, no baby, when you grow up you want to be a pianist and live in a condo?"
"Yes! that's what I said"
Well, needless to say we never could afford those piano lessons and I found myself not even desiring to own a house, let alone two.
But this story is one close to my heart because I still love the sound of the piano and more importantly I love puns, analogy, metaphor and drawing conceptual parallels in any discussion.
All of this to say that the Piano is still teaching me important lessons. For example, during an essential oil workshop I recently attended the instructor asked if we knew how a piano is tuned?
Answer: with tuning forks. The tuning fork is struck and the piano strings are plucked and the string meets the frequency of the tuning fork.
Pure vibration genius.
We humans are the same way. Made of matter, we all fluctuate on frequencies and the hurts by which we function determine if we ride on a high or low frequency. Positive people and things like fruits and vegetables produce higher frequency. Rose essential oils being one of the highest.
I think of my grandmother with her rose and honey suckle garden, her little slice of rapid hurts, a burst of positive energy.
I encourage us all to think about this idea of tuning our selves daily. When we receive, in our ears, our eyes, our stomachs, our hearts, low frequencies we instinctively tune ourselves there.
Let's not be confused, I am not advocating to ignore the challenges in the world, I am not advocating to avoid the lows.
I am asking all of us to transmute these energies within ourselves. To take notice of where and when and what we are matched to and actively engage in raising our selves. May it be eating and thanking a glorious piece of fruit after a session on your face book feed.
Or after watching something upsetting, searching for at least 10 positive images to remind yourself that the world is good still and so are Americans and so are humans. And when there are no social media or media out puts of high frequencies, creating them, and sharing them and loving all who you love and cultivating your garden. Listening to happy music and making happy music too.
All of this to say, Tuning forks can save this world, if we take them and use them as the spiritual and emotional tools their fundamental purposes teach us.
I know I'm still learning and I hope you are too.
lots of love,
Amelia
