Dear Friends and Family,
As a small child, I thought, if you live in a condo then you are rich. My understanding of a vacation home was limited to condos but still I understood money and access was something to strive for at 3 years old.
As a small child I loved the sound of the piano. I don't even know where I had even heard it. But I loved it and when I found out you could be a professional piano player I was stoked.
I told my father. "Daddy, Daddy! When I grow up I want to be a penis and live in a condom" Completely sincere you could imagine my fathers reaction.
Pure comical genius, and when he laughed at me I took personal offense.
"oh, no baby, when you grow up you want to be a pianist and live in a condo?"
"Yes! that's what I said"
Well, needless to say we never could afford those piano lessons and I found myself not even desiring to own a house, let alone two.
But this story is one close to my heart because I still love the sound of the piano and more importantly I love puns, analogy, metaphor and drawing conceptual parallels in any discussion.
All of this to say that the Piano is still teaching me important lessons. For example, during an essential oil workshop I recently attended the instructor asked if we knew how a piano is tuned?
Answer: with tuning forks. The tuning fork is struck and the piano strings are plucked and the string meets the frequency of the tuning fork.
Pure vibration genius.
We humans are the same way. Made of matter, we all fluctuate on frequencies and the hurts by which we function determine if we ride on a high or low frequency. Positive people and things like fruits and vegetables produce higher frequency. Rose essential oils being one of the highest.
I think of my grandmother with her rose and honey suckle garden, her little slice of rapid hurts, a burst of positive energy.
I encourage us all to think about this idea of tuning our selves daily. When we receive, in our ears, our eyes, our stomachs, our hearts, low frequencies we instinctively tune ourselves there.
Let's not be confused, I am not advocating to ignore the challenges in the world, I am not advocating to avoid the lows.
I am asking all of us to transmute these energies within ourselves. To take notice of where and when and what we are matched to and actively engage in raising our selves. May it be eating and thanking a glorious piece of fruit after a session on your face book feed.
Or after watching something upsetting, searching for at least 10 positive images to remind yourself that the world is good still and so are Americans and so are humans. And when there are no social media or media out puts of high frequencies, creating them, and sharing them and loving all who you love and cultivating your garden. Listening to happy music and making happy music too.
All of this to say, Tuning forks can save this world, if we take them and use them as the spiritual and emotional tools their fundamental purposes teach us.
I know I'm still learning and I hope you are too.
lots of love,
Amelia

Do you and the universe will take care of the rest.
Dear Family and friends,
I've been thinking a lot about this. Do you and the universe will take care of the rest. There have been many words to break down exactly what I mean. Faith, devotion, alignment, your path, God's grace, Beauty way.
And I used to take offense to this idea. "Do you" but I learned it wasn't a mean or accusatory statement. It's honoring the individual to be who they are meant to be. To follow in the way of their human equation. To find and fulfill their lives gifts and medicine. To help heal the earth.
I keep having dreams I'm speaking my mind without hesitation. In some I'm yelling at people, in others I'm gently letting them know in a clear manner what it is that I understand. There is always risk to speaking the truth. The truth is never wrong or unsafe. The truth is absolute.
So I write to you now beautiful friends and family because the universe will take care of us. We can not live in fear of the future. These days seem dark, These days seem scary. But the American people have been complacent for too long. And although the movements are ramping up. I want to be clear and say.. the individual must ramp up as well. We are only ever limited by our individual work.
I believe in each and everyone of us. I believe in myself. I believe in you. When we learn to center ourselves, the universe will take care of the rest. If your soul made a contract to learn love. The universe may have given you a life time of feeling unloved in order for you to learn what it means to be truly loved and to live in love.
The front door to happiness is the back door of depression.
Perhaps this blog wasn't on your list of things to read today but you found yourself here. Thank you. I am grateful you are reading if you are. And happy to be on the earth and in a body during the same life cycle as each and everyone of you.
Warmly,
Av

What do you say to the white snow?
Dear white snow,
What do I say when your soft cold hands silence all the work I intend to do? How do I tell you I am in a land with community values I do not know well enough to avoid stepping over boundaries that aren't meant for me. White snow, I brought my snow shoes, you know? I am prepared in many ways, but not for this...
This new feeling, this new regime.
I wonder white snow, how I must look to you. Covered from head to toe in black. I see the way you blow around me, the way the rez dogs act.
They run in front of the car, they want your attention, they want mine. They refuse to come inside. They wait in the same spot everyday for you to come home and they stay alive despite the odds.
I wonder white snow what it means to have a school with no children and no teachers? How the work isn't going according to plan. How I guess nothing ever does or ever can.
I think about the individual. I think about myself. I think about the work to do and how to get there. I hate being useless. Sometimes you make me feel useless. I must huddle in my coat to protect my face and still there is skin I can not cover. Scars I can not erase.
This seems true for you too snow. The banks on the road so high, the ice on the ground. That feeling yesterday. The one that came all the way from Washington. You were meant to fall a day ago, but today I see your face. Your round face.
I slept all day you know. This heavy feeling in the light white snow.

White Mountain, Black Snake, Blue Bear, Bear Blue, Snake Black, Mountain White
Dear Fabulous.
The last 2 days have changed my life. You can track my progress in the title of this letter. Stretch it in two more directions, 4 more directions, all directions and that's where I am. The people I met, the homes I built, the love I felt, the love I see, the hope I cultivate. The storms, the roads, the cold, the wind, the white, the plains, the planes. The dream I am living. It's painfully clear that words are not enough. That once again language, especially fails, and it will take me three days to process what it is that I am trying to say, realize, enact and share.
Thank you for those who have read. I appreciate you. Reach out to me if you want to share or hug or smile or especially dance!

Milk of Magnesia Mountain
Dear Fabulous,
Today is going to be short. Yesterday was not. I successfully made it in and out of camp! (mom can rest easy) My first order of business was drop off donations. Check. Volunteer at Med tent. Check.
Milk of magnesia is used to counter the affects of pepper spray in the eyes. No flavors. Check.
My job: sort through the mountain, create and maintain stack, transfer from cardboard to plastic bin.
surrounded by milky white ladies, I found my self working quickly and making choices towards efficiency. Something I'm good at.
We can see the floor again. After two successful stacks and two hours I was off...
...To a press conference, to the two spirit camp, and then to Yuwipi ceremony. Where Patricia Arquette was in attendance...
My night ended in a good way. Warm in bed, telling my mom I love her, and sleeping deep into the night.
On to the next!

Sitting Bull Visitor Center
Dear Fabulous,
A white blanket coated the ground as the plane touches down on the landing pad. I find my luggage, my rental car, all three are blue. My favorite color and I think... "This is a good thing". I overhear the rental car clerk explaining on the phone they have no more vehicles due to the "protesters. This journey already feels blessed when my flight gets us into Bismark 25 minutes ahead of schedule. Early?!? That's a first. Then again when my cell phone navigation stays working after I've been warned to go a different route due to road closures.
My blue bubble bobs solo along the road. I think of my little brother, playing with toys as my mother sews in batting to the blankets she makes for all our loved ones. How similar the loft is to this coat of white on the ground, I relax a little and turn on the radio. I jam out to "classic rock" and can't help but think of Vanessa and the Studiomix crew, some how knowing more songs than I did before.
I smile deep into my snow boots and go slow, slower then the speed limit sometimes as my blue bubble is 2 wheel drive and the roads are looking and feeling more like 5 wheel drive. I make a mental note "See Amelia, you'd love to be rocking a 4 wheel drive truck right now!"
The road is absolutely beautiful, and although its sleeting out I roll down my windows to get a clearer picture.
My first stop. Visitor Center, as I am a visitor and I need to pee. A group of people are also "visiting" sitting around and chatting. I do my business and sit quietly... patiently. Virtual reality goggles are being passed around, I'm offered to see and find myself in the middle of a march, there are people singing. Those in the room tell me to look around and I find a man at my feet recording. "oh, hello down there" He fails to hear me. I am pulled in and almost hit my head on the, now invisible, couch as I roll around trying to see from all angles. Head, up, head down, to left to the right. A little motion sickness.
I tell the group, I've come to work. They tell me where to check in and warn me my 2 wheel drive might not make it back out of the camp. I choose not to risk it tonight and head to my lodgings.
Here, in a home, I am greeted with warm food, sweet smiles, new friends, tea and an invitation to a ceremony tomorrow. Tomorrow is a big day. I'll travel to camp, blue bubble and all.
